Fireworks(Poetry)

A crinkle

a snap

an echoing clap

and flowers bloom across

the sky

bright bursts

of pollen

raining down

on people below

who gaze

with crazy grins on their faces

squeezing the hand of the one next to them

cheap lemonade

and melting ice cream cones

forgotten beside them.

Happy July 4th! (Yes, I am aware it isn’t July 4th anymore, but give me a break, inspiration doesn’t strike right away sometimes!) Anyway, enjoy this poem inspired by fireworks.

Sincerely,

Mantra.
